Spring Style Tips
We’re blessed to be enjoying such a beautiful time of year, watching the transitioning seasons, colors come to life and we start to tune in with nature. But it can also be a difficult time to have full control over our personal style as the weather can be unpredictable. This often leaves us wearing unsuitable clothing . . . there’s nothing worse than wearing winter boots when the weather turns sunny!
The secret, as I always say, is to be organized. I’ve collated some top tips that you can follow to create a fabulous spring wardrobe. Follow these and be sure to dress confidently everyday – no matter what the weather may decide to do!
Top Tips on getting ready for Spring . . .
Tip 1
Layers are a must for this time of year, cardigans and lightweight jackets are great to build outfits around.
Tip 2
Change boots for pumps / loafers and wear with skinny or straight cut jeans. Showing a bit on ankle looks fresh yet it’s still appropriate if the weather turns cooler.
Tip 3
Scarves are great not only for adding fresh spring color but they are easy to throw on when the weather turns.
Tip 4
Have some great shades to grab, even on a cooler day the sun can still be blinding.
Tip 5
Invest in a light colored jacket or lightweight coat. A light color such as cream or pale gray will lift your looks and your wardrobe.
Tip 6
Clear all your winter clothes away, invest in a wardrobe specialist if needs be to help you to detox your wardrobe and get you ready for the next season.
Tip 7
Add light colored accessories to liven up your wardrobe, something like a white bag is a great idea to brighten your style.
Tip 8
Add new lipstick / lip-gloss shades to your collection, corals for warmer skin tones and pink for cool skin tones are great for spring.
Tip 9
Think about having some lighter colors put through your hair, it will freshen your look, don’t go mad, just have a few then add more going into Summer.
Tip 10
Swap your normal foundation for a lighter one, or choose a tinted moisturiser. If you prefer a light tan choose a facial tanner to give a little colour to your skin then just wear concealer, lip-gloss and mascara.

About Catherine Colgrave: I work one-to-one with clients to help them discover their own unique style. I ultimately want to simplify your life and enable you to have more control over your wardrobe – lets face it, life is busy, we naturally prioritise work, family, socialising as well as a never ending to-do list, we simply don’t have the time (or energy) to fit everything in!
My philosophy is about keeping it simple, I guide my clients into finding and embracing their own unique style, as women, we often feel stuck in a rut, overwhelmed or simply uninspired with our clothing – they become functional rather than an expression of who we are. More here.
