LearnSavvy Instructor: Dr. Carol Morgan
Company Name: DrCarolMorgan.com, ABetterMeMagazine.com & Wright State University
Based: Dayton, Ohio
My favorite tools to stay on track:
Sticky notes – I always write my “To-Do Lists” on them! I also live and die by my calendar.
My favorite quote:
“It is your resistance to what is that causes your suffering.” ~Buddha
I’m regularly inspired by:
Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday. I love hearing all the spiritual and inspirational people she has on that show!
In another life…
I would BE Oprah and have my own talk show and Super Soul Sunday!
The one word that best describes how I work:
I’m very focused and driven. But I’m either “all in” or “all out.” I don’t do things half-way. So I am very careful about what projects I get involved in because I always finish what I start!
Now the real one word that best describes how I work:
Freight-Train (Sorry, that’s 2 words! … But I’m like a freight train when I get going on something … you can’t stop me!)
My favorite app/online tool that I can’t live without:
I live in the “Stone Age” … I’m very low-tech (hence, the sticky notes!)
My best shortcut is:
Always looking at the “big picture” and not worrying about details. That makes me very efficient! And also not needing to be a perfectionist …
I recharge by:
Watching a favorite TV show or reading a good book. And also enjoying time with my friends!
The best way I manage my to-do list:
Sticky notes, and crossing my tasks off one by one. Like I said, I’m very low-tech!
My sleep routine looks like:
I’m a very structured person – even with my sleep schedule! I DEFINITELY need my sleep. If I get less than 7 hours, I am a zombie. So I try to go to bed between 10:00-11:00. And I am not a morning person either, so when the alarm clock goes off, I am not happy ☺ But after I get going and wake up, then I’m happy!
I’m currently reading:
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
Favorite music to work by:
CMT (Country Music Television)
My secret business super power is:
Perhaps my friendly personality? I can get along with pretty much anyone – and I genuinely care about their well-being. I’m not much of a sales person, but I am a good teacher. I am good at connecting and talking with people, and it helps in all areas of life!
My favorite way to network:
These days, I find it very easy to network in a virtual way. Many people contact me because of my work that they come across (articles, video classes, etc). But I also contact people when I like their work, too. I’m surprised to say that I’ve made friends all over the world. Skype is a beautiful thing!
The one thing that has surprised me about my business is:
How many people from around the world that my work has touched! I will get emails from people who are living some very difficult lives, and they simply say “thank you for helping me.” That is why I do what I do! I want to help change people’s lives for the better!
