As I shared earlier this week, I began to reflect on the coming Spring season and 5 questions arose that I wrote down.
Instead of keeping them to myself and scratching out my notes and thoughts on the back of a flyer while my kiddo was practicing martial arts, I decided to be more intentional about it.
Also, I realized I wanted to share this exercise with you hoping that it might help both your business and your life!
In a world where it’s all about more more MORE, it’s easy to get caught up in consumption and driving/pushing forward.
Spring though is a wonderful time to let go, to discard, and to re-calibrate our insatiable taste for more.
I find that it’s easy to keep pushing forward, looking to the future, planning and plotting in a rather mindless way. It’s easy to be in a state of movement without stopping to really THINK and explore and question where we’re at.
There are so many distractions. So much to read, share, buy, do, learn…
In business there is always the latest program, course, widget and blueprint that lures you in with their Siren’s song.
And it’s not just consumption. We feel the drive to DO more, to BE more, to GET more done. To go BIG or go home. What you can do with less of can be professional and personal. Emotional and spiritual. Mental and physical. It covers all the corners of your very overstuffed life.
Today we’re going to press pause (briefly!) and reflect on what we need LESS of.
But what do you need less of? Let’s start our 5 part journey looking at our lives and our businesses and what we can use a little less of.
Here are simply some examples to get started!
Physical Environment
- Less stuff (I mean, seriously, look around!)
- Less clothes (especially those that don’t fit or need mending)
- Less toys (if you have kids)
Mental
- Less self-criticism
- Less judgment of self and others
- Less replaying old stories
Emotional
- Less commitments that drain you
- Less time w people who zap your energy
- Less time gossiping
Activities/Habits
- Less TV
- Less binge watching
- Less mindless time on Facebook
- Less news
